Do you know that if you have diabetes you are also prone to heart disease or stroke irrespective of the gender. One reason is high blood levels of sugar make the walls of your blood vessels thicker and cause them to lose their elasticity, which in turn makes it harder for blood to pass through.

Type 1 diabetes is known as juvenile-onset diabetes and usually affects children and young adults and is genetically-linked. The following are some conditions that are typically found in people with type 2 diabetes, which is know as adult-onset diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Obesity: Obesity, the major risk factor for cardiovascular disease, is strongly associated with insulin resistance. Obesity is not only a hereditary factor but has become a common factor now days due to the life style, food habits, nature of work etc. Loosing weight has been shown to improve heart-health along with diabetes.

Diet changes and taking medicines are among the things that cause them to be more depressed.

Inactivity: Lack of exercise is another major risk factor. This is one of the most important reasons for ill health. A person with white colored job or a home maker or a student preparing for talent exams is prone to such inactivity for more hours in a day. Along with loosing weight, exercise has helped to reduce blood pressure and the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Hypertension: High blood pressure has long been recognized as a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. If you have both high blood and diabetes your risk for heart disease doubles.

The mind is the emperor of the body. The sickness of the body is the cure of the mind.

Mental health problems can affect anyone, rich or poor, young or old, shattering the lives of those affected and the lives of the people close to them. One in four of us may experience a mental health problem at some point in our lives. According to a survey each year more than 250,000 people are admitted to psychiatric hospitals and over 4,000 people take their own lives.

Mind refers to all the aspects of consciousness marked as combinations of memory, desire, imagination and emotion. Mind is not a gross thing that can be noticeable. Its existence is nowhere seen, and its degree cannot be measured in simple measuring scale. In popular practice mind is often considered as the synonym of thinking.

However, body and mind are closely interconnected to each other and emotions play a big part in determining one's health status. In accordance with Ayurveda and Yoga, both mind and body are made up of five elements, i.e Panchabhutas of earth (prithvi), water (jal), fire (agni or tej), air (vayu) and ether or space (akash). The mind, one of subtlest parts of our being is composed of air and ether, the lightest elements. Stress and its negative effect on the immune system remains the major challenge to good health. Our immune system which is holistic in nature significantly gets affected by close associations with psychology, neurology, endocrinology, nutrition and the environment.

In the past few years, recent studies have shown that 70% of all physician visits are stress related and 40% of employee turnover is due to stress. Several researches had also shown that negative emotions suppress immune function. Constant stress depletes the body's resources, ability to adapt, coping functions are compromised and finally person gets ill. Once the mind is depressing, poisons are on the loose into the blood, which roots more sadness and lack of enthusiasm.

Ten golden ways to keep the mind clear from any stress or mental disorders.

A strong and hearty mind is somewhat that we all wish for. Life is intended to be a positive, despite difficulties that come along. It can have recoil, desire and surprise, but our positive attitude and healthy approach towards life can change the way we accept things all around our life. A healthy mind results a healthy body and this makes life worth living. Two things, that simultaneously go together is good health and a sound mind. A healthy mind diminishes the tension hormones, conserve our mental state and put away them from the distressing effect of Alzheimer's disease. A positive mind anticipates happiness, health and a successful outcome of every situation and action.

Now attitude or thoughts can not be changed overnight, so as to turn the mind with positive thoughts you have to perform some mind exercise, like:

1. Constantly visualize constructive and beneficial situations. Make use of positive words in your conversation or daily dialogues.

2. Think positively; anticipate just positive results and situations, and surely conditions will adjust accordingly.

3. Replace negative feelings with positive thinking. The replacing thought must be positive in every sense. Apart from being inspiring and assuring, it should also be suggestive.

4. Reinforce good and healthy thoughts with emotions and images. Though this may take longer time in comparison to replacing a single positive thought, but this process is more effective and allows you to divide the desired target into workable units.

No matter what your age, exercising your brain may make the difference the way you actually perceive and learn from your life. Finally you should know that your mental state is what you think and as a result you feel what you want. So make up your mind with healthy thinking. Doing this daily exercise is a primary key to living a blissful and meaningful life.

Mind is the best known charity for mental health, and we have a rich tradition of working to improve lives. A positive attitude to everything that happens in our life will help us to think better and feel happy.

Happiness and glass break easily. So the happiness is in your pocket, spend it, earn it but don't break it.

Anger is one letter short of Danger.

Even though this saying is an acceptable truth nobody realizes this when they are angry. Anger is one of the weaknesses which is found in a man irrespective of age. Anger punishes itself. Everybody falls prey to anger at one time or other and says or does things that cause long term damage which is again detrimental to happiness. In Bhagavad Gita Krishna has said that from anger arises delusion; delusion promotes confusion of the mind; confusion generates loss of reason and finally, loss of reason leads to complete ruin.

However, desire breeds anger, when the desires are not fulfilled anger is the result. Like an earthquake that destroys the entire city, anger even though it appears for a moment may ruin the entire life. So one must know how to control anger or else it leaves permanent scars.

All that you have to do is, be patient. Be silent. The desire to get things done quickly will sometimes need to be balanced with a degree of patience. In an angry mood one may even kill a person if he loses patience. Anger diminishes our intellectual capacity. An angry person tries to take revenge on the other person who is the cause for his anger. Anger leads to huge loss. Especially a short tempered person creates a furore. No body likes a person who is short tempered. He may be a good man but not a famous man due to his short temper. People may call him a fool. Anger keeps him worried. Anger only shows that instead of being the master we are still the slaves of our lower mind.

Do these when you are angry.

1. Do not speak. Be calm.
2. Do not write any letter to anybody.
3. Do not take lunch or dinner.
4. Leave the place and sit in silence for sometime, say five minutes.
5. Think of some pleasant memories of your past life.
6. Think of somebody who is very close to your heart like your mom, your wife or your child.

Anger dies quickly with a good man. A clever man controls his anger.

An angry person loses his sense. He acts very irrelevantly. This should be a lesson to others. They must know that with anger nothing is achieved. Suppose another person makes you to become angry you should not become angry. Instead you must put efforts to see that the other person becomes normal. If you too become angry then the situation gets worsened. Under the conditions even friends become enemies. In between two if one is angry the other should keep himself smiling. A smile cost nothing, but it creates much.

There are physiological and psychological causes for anger. One has to find out the real cause and conquer anger. Some people will have the feeling that they are blackish they are poor, they are sick, they are ugly etc. Some others will have the feeling that they are dull, unlucky, inferior etc. Such physiological and psychological reasons make them to become angry when other people talk about it. One thing we must note that no body is supreme. Every body will have one or the other defects. Better avoid physiological and psychological feelings. Many great things are achieved by people who were black in color. The dark clouds can only pour rains.

There may be any reason for your anger. Analyse the reason. Find out where the fault is, rectify it. Things may become normal. Becoming angry, raising your voice, scolding others do not yield any fruit. In fact, it kills your pleasure. A wise person laughs or keeps laughing even when he has lost his temper. Rather, he will be happiest person.

Anger is the root cause of ill health. Anger may be one of the biggest challenges you are facing today. Anger is ruining health, destroying relationships, careers, businesses, marriages and is a significant factor in abuse, and addictions of all kinds.

So say bye-bye to anger and be out of danger.
